Assessment

"Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom." Aristotle

Assessment

Assessment is the core of every sector. To be able to achieve in the future whatever we set as our goal today we should first assess our condition at the moment. Thus we will have a clear view of our initial state.

Step 1

Assessment works like a mirror. The first thing we should do when we wish to change something in ourselves is to look in the mirror without denial or fear. What frightens us is that we might see in our reflection something we don’t like. Nevertheless the clearer we see ourselves the better we understand the state we are in.

Step 2

The second thing to do once we realise where we are is to set clear, definite, explicit and realistic goals.

Step 3

The third and most essential step is to determined the most efficient way to set our goals. Any attempt to achieve our goals without prior assessment or specific plan is an attempt based on chance.

Assessment Methods

Cardio Assessment

Cardio assessment gives all the information necessary about the cardiorespiratory ability of the trainee. With the test we can have a clear picture of his fitness level of the specific time period. It is essentially a short stress test in open air while recording heartbeat with a heart rate monitor.

Musculoskeletal Assessment

Musculoskeletal assessment is a series of functional tests with access posture, joint mobility and muscular imbalances. Some of the tests show the sequence of muscular action specific movements. This assessment can be a great guide for healing and corrective exercise.

Body Composition Analysis

Body composition analysis through the use of specialised equipment informs the trainee about the percentage of body fat, density of muscular tissue, fluids, as well as belly fat. In that way we can monitor his progress monthly. Body analysis is done on bioelectric impedance scales and estimation of adipode tissue by a skinfold caliper test.

Flexibility Assessment

Flexibility assessment is done by testing specific muscle groups while recording the level of muscle flexibility as a whole. The assessment is mainly about the large muscle groups of the body. Flexibility is increased at the young ages while diminishes with the coming of age. The decrease can be limited by taking part in sports activities and generally exercising. It is a skill which can be measured and evaluated.

Speed Assessment

It is recommended for athletes. It is done by testing an athlete’s speed in straight course. The distance he will cover during the test is determined by the requirements of each sport. It is about giving it all in a short time and it takes place outdoors.

Agility Assessment

It is recommended for athletes. It is done by testing an athlete’s ability to move in a variety of ways at high speed on the field. It is about giving it all in a short time and it takes place outdoors.

Body measurements

Body measurements define what a trainee needs especially when he is a beginner, unfit or of poor healthy.
Testing and measurements are crucial as they help planning training and diet. When the results of body measurements are put in to use the offer objective evidence for the assessment of a program. They also define the level of fitness and the health of the trainees.
